About the PESTLE Analysis template
A PESTLE Analysis is a structured scan of the external macro-environment across six dimensions: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental. It surfaces the outside forces that could enable or threaten a strategy before you commit resources, keeping planning grounded in the wider operating context rather than internal assumptions.
It's part of My QMS, MyPMP's Quality Management System: fill it in online, personalize it with your name and logo, then export a clean, branded PDF. Your work auto-saves in your browser.

FAQ
What does PESTLE stand for?οΌ
PESTLE stands for Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental, the six categories of external factors examined in the analysis. It extends the older PEST model by adding the Legal and Environmental dimensions.
How is PESTLE different from a SWOT analysis?οΌ
PESTLE looks only at external macro-environmental factors, while SWOT covers both internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external ones (opportunities and threats). PESTLE findings often feed directly into the opportunities and threats sections of a SWOT.
How often should a PESTLE Analysis be updated?οΌ
Refresh it at least annually or whenever a significant shift occurs, such as new legislation, economic downturns, or major technology changes. Fast-moving sectors may warrant quarterly reviews to keep the analysis actionable.
