A roadmap is a high-level, time-based visual that shows the major initiatives, milestones, and delivery phases needed to reach a strategic goal. Unlike a detailed schedule, it communicates direction and priorities to stakeholders without getting lost in task-level dependencies. It keeps executives, delivery teams, and customers aligned on what is coming and roughly when.
It's part of My QMS, MyPMP's Quality Management System: fill it in online, personalize it with your name and logo, then export a clean, branded PDF. Your work auto-saves in your browser.
The interactive form above gives you:
A roadmap communicates strategic direction, milestones, and rough timing at a glance, while a project plan breaks the work into detailed tasks, dependencies, resources, and exact dates.
Most roadmaps span two to four quarters, with near-term items shown precisely and later horizons kept deliberately broad to reflect lower certainty.
The product owner, project manager, or program lead typically owns it, reviewing and updating it at regular cadences such as each sprint boundary or quarterly planning cycle.
