About the Project Calendar template
A Project Calendar maps the working days, non-working days, holidays, and shifts against which task durations and the overall schedule are calculated. It defines when work can actually happen, so a five-day task doesn't accidentally span a weekend or public holiday. Getting the calendar right keeps your Gantt dates, resource availability, and deadlines grounded in reality.
It's part of My QMS, MyPMP's Quality Management System: fill it in online, personalize it with your name and logo, then export a clean, branded PDF. Your work auto-saves in your browser.

Tips & common mistakes
- π‘Set the calendar before scheduling tasks; changing it later shifts every dependent date and can break your baseline
- π‘Assign resource-specific calendars for part-time or contract staff rather than forcing them onto the default project calendar
- π‘Update recurring holidays annually so long-running projects don't drift out of sync with the actual calendar year
How it works
- 1. Fill it in β type directly into the fields, tables and sections above.
- 2. Brand it β add your organization name and logo with the Branding button.
- 3. Export β print to PDF, or become a member to white-label and sync across devices.
FAQ
What is the difference between a project calendar and a resource calendar?οΌ
A project calendar defines the default working and non-working time for the whole project, while a resource calendar overrides it for individual people or equipment with different availability, such as part-time hours or planned leave.
How do non-working days affect task duration?οΌ
Task durations are counted only across working days, so a task with a 5-day duration starting Thursday will finish the following Wednesday if weekends are marked non-working, skipping the intervening days.
Can I have more than one calendar in a single project?οΌ
Yes. A base project calendar sets the standard, and you can attach additional calendars for specific tasks, shifts, or resource groups that operate on different working patterns.
