A Profit and Loss Statement summarizes revenue, costs, and expenses over a defined period to show whether a project or business generated a net profit or loss. It translates day-to-day financial activity into a clear picture of operating performance, making it essential for tracking margins, justifying budgets, and reporting to stakeholders.
It's part of My QMS, MyPMP's Quality Management System: fill it in online, personalize it with your name and logo, then export a clean, branded PDF. Your work auto-saves in your browser.

A P&L covers performance over a period of time (revenue minus expenses), while a balance sheet shows financial position at a single point in time (assets, liabilities, and equity).
Subtract cost of goods sold from revenue to get gross profit, then deduct operating expenses, interest, and taxes; the remaining figure is net profit or loss.
