About the PERT Chart template

A PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) chart is a network diagram that maps project activities as a sequence of nodes and dependency arrows, using three time estimates—optimistic, most likely, and pessimistic—to model uncertainty in each task's duration. It helps you calculate a weighted expected time, identify the critical path, and forecast realistic completion dates when durations are hard to pin down. This makes it valuable for planning novel or high-risk work where a single fixed estimate would be misleading.
