A Balance Sheet is a financial snapshot showing what an entity owns, owes, and the residual equity at a single point in time, built on the accounting equation Assets = Liabilities + Equity. For project and finance teams it reveals liquidity, solvency, and capital structure, making it essential for funding decisions, audits, and tracking financial health across reporting periods.
It's part of My QMS, MyPMP's Quality Management System: fill it in online, personalize it with your name and logo, then export a clean, branded PDF. Your work auto-saves in your browser.
The interactive form above gives you:
A balance sheet shows financial position at one point in time (assets, liabilities, equity), while an income statement reports revenue and expenses over a period to show profit or loss.
Total assets must equal total liabilities plus equity; if they don't, review for omitted transactions, duplicated entries, or items placed on the wrong side.
Most organizations prepare one at least quarterly and annually, though monthly balance sheets are common for closer cash-flow and covenant monitoring.
